At Vortex, we believe exhibition spaces should do more than display information; they should create memorable experiences. For the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at the India International Trade Fair 2025, Pragati Maidan, our vision was to create a futuristic and immersive aviation pavilion that showcased AAI’s contribution to Indian aviation while introducing visitors to the diverse career opportunities within the industry.
Built around the theme “Gateway to the Skies,” the stall was designed as an open and welcoming environment that encouraged visitors to step in, explore, and engage with aviation in an interactive way. As the world’s largest airport operator and air navigation service provider, AAI manages over 137 airports across the country, making it one of the key pillars of India’s aviation ecosystem.
The entrance experience was designed to feel dynamic, immersive, and visually impactful, instantly drawing visitors into the world of aviation. Inside, every zone was thoughtfully designed to merge immersive technology with informative storytelling. Through audio-visual walkthroughs, visitors explored the architecture, interiors, and passenger experience of newly inaugurated airports and terminals. Interactive route maps and infrastructure displays provided insights into airport scale, passenger capacity, connectivity, and operational reach across India.
Alongside this, “Kala Sankalan” celebrated Indian art and culture, which is showcased across AAI airports, while the UDAAN Airports / RCS section highlighted how regional connectivity is expanding access to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
One of the key attractions was the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower installation, which introduced visitors to the system responsible for coordinating aircraft movement, managing take-offs and landings, and ensuring safe air traffic operations. It offered a closer look at one of the most critical functions within aviation.
To encourage participation, we introduced a digital aviation quiz and a multimedia quiz that encouraged visitors to test their aviation knowledge in an interactive format. Another major crowd-puller was the AI Avatar Selfie Booth, where visitors could transform themselves into aviation professionals such as pilots, cabin crew, and ATC officers, creating a fun and memorable connection with the industry.
The stall also had the honor of being inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, further emphasizing the significance of AAI’s participation at IITF. Its immersive concept and execution were widely appreciated, leading to the stall being awarded the Gold Award in the PSUs category for “Excellence in Display.”
